On June 28 every year, at about 5pm, we celebrate the arrival of pilgrims from Fusch (Salzburg). Mass is said in our famous pilgrimage church, and afterwards there is a big fair in the village center.
Early next morning the traders set up their stalls for the "Peter and Paul's Market". Sweets, toys, home textiles, clothing and shoes, household goods, ... Take your time to stroll around!
Assumption Day & Harvest Festival
Traditional herb blessing on August 15 (Assumption Day). After Mass women sell small herb bouquets, which make a lovely, fragrant souvenir to take home.
The annual Harvest Festival in late September or early October is celebrated by the whole community. It starts with a thanksgiving service and blessing of food (bacon, bread, etc.) and horses. Local groups and associations, among them folklore groups, choirs and music ensembles, organize a village fete.
The Lammfest festival takes place in Heiligenblut around mid-September every year. On two days, Saturday and Sunday, the Upper Mölltal region presents all kinds of lamb (and other) specialties. The program includes numerous related events, such as guided walks and music. Not to be missed!
